All the trades that went down in the last week of the trade deadline.

The trade deadline has now passed and many players have gone to new places. There is much to discuss, so lets get right into it.

February 6th, 2022

Cavaliers Receive: Caris Levert, Heat's 2022 second rounder

Pacers Receive: Ricky Rubio, 2022 Lottery-protected First rounder, Rocket's 2022 second rounder, Jazz's 2027 second rounder

The trade deadline is looking like a big contract dump for the Pacers, as they got rid of multiple contracts so far in the trade deadline. The Cavs are very much going to prosper off of this deal because now there is automatic chem between Jarrett Allen and Caris, also they fill that small forward spot with a quality player. The Cavs are now a great playoff team after this trade.

February 8, 2022

Trail Blazers Receive: Josh Hart, Tomas Satoransky, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Didi Louzada, protected 2022 second rounder, two future second round picks

Pelicans Receive: CJ McCollum, Larry Nance Jr, Tony Snell

The Blazers really just treated this trade as a cash dump, because after this trade they basically got rid of everything they received from the Pelicans. Meanwhile, the Pelicans now have a very solid rotation here with Zion, Hayes, McCollum, and Ingram. I think that this trade is going to save the Pelicans season, and if they do not make the playoffs this year, they surely will next year.

Kings Receive: Domantas Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb, Justin Holiday, 2023 second rounder

Pacers Receive: Tyrese Haliburton, Buddy Hield, Tristan Thompson

This again goes back to me saying that the Pacers were making moves to open up some cap space, most likely for a big free agency signing, but during this trade they get some high quality players for cheap. Tyrese Haliburton is still on his rookie and is a really good shooting guard so that will help, and Tristan can help at PF. For the Kings, they just sent out their power forward for a better one and some depth. Both of these teams improve in their own ways off of this, and this trade is good for both sides.

February 9, 2022

Jazz Receive: Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Juancho Hernangomez

Spurs Receive: Tomas Satoransky, second rounder from an unknown year

Trail Blazers receive: Joe Ingles, Elijah Hughes, second rounder from an unknown year

This goes back to the trade where the Blazers got these players, and as you can see they got back some quality things in return. Sadly, Joe Ingles is out for the year and I do not know how good Elijah Hughes is so I think the only good thing here is the second rounder honestly. The Jazz ended up getting some young talent in Nickeil and the spurs just did this to make the trade go through I guess.

February 10, 2022. Trade Deadline Day

Kings Receive: Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Jackson, Trey Lyles

Pistons Receive: Marvin Bagley III

Bucks Receive: Serge Ibaka

Clippers Receive: Semi Ojeleye, Rodney Hood

For some reason ESPN and many other networks focus on Serge Ibaka as the main part of this trade, where I find Bagley to really be the key player going around here. Both players are PFs but Bagley is younger and his potential hasn't been used to its full potential in my mind. Ibaka is obviously also a good piece here and that will most likely be a backup for Giannis as I do not think that Serge Ibaka can overtake Giannis for the starting position. The two other teams in this deal just got pieces for depth and this trade will just help when somebody gets injured.

Spurs Receive: Goran Dragic, Multiple 2022 first rounders

Raptors Receive: Thad Young, Drew Eubanks, Pistons' 2022 second rounder

This trade was not much because Dragic's contract will be bought out, so this is just a trade for the Spurs to get more first rounders to bulk up their squad in the draft. The Raptors now have some more depth in the squad and this trade will not effect either team in any way as of now.

Celtics Receive: Future second round pick

Magic Receive: Bol Bol, P.J. Dozier, future second rounder, cash

This trade was just the Celtics dumping cash and getting picks, and for the Magic, they now have the tallest center position in the NBA. They have Mo Bamba who is a whopping 7 feet and then Bol Bol who is 7 feet and two inches, making the Magic center spot a combined 14 feet tall! Nobody is getting by that defense except Tacko Fall.

76ers receive: James Harden, Paul Millsap

Nets Receive: Seth Curry, Ben Simmons, Andre Drummond, 2022 first rounder, 2027 first rounder

This process of this trade going through was so weird since the Nets constantly changed from saying they wouldn't trade Harden to wanting to trade him. In the end, they did trade him and this trade will benefit the Nets a lot. The first reason being they have lots of depth in the squad, and they recoup some of the picks they lost when trading for Harden last season. For the Sixers, they now have an amazing squad that is championship material, with Embiid, Harris, and Harden they now are going for it all. Watch out for this team to wreak havoc on the league.

Celtics Receive: Derrick White

Spurs Receive: Romeo Langford, Josh Richardson, 2022 First rounder (top 4 protected)

This trade benefits the Celtics a lot, as they get rid of players that they do not need and in return get an amazing player in Derrick White. The Celtics have been a great team this year and they will only go up from here as the playoffs near. The Spurs are out of the playoff picture at this rate so I guess they are trying to get players for depth and picks for a good future of the squad.

Pacers Receive: Jalen Smith, future second rounder

Suns Receive: Torrey Craig

I don't know what the point of this trade was to be honest so I don't have much to say about it. All I have to say is the Pacers got a young center with plenty of potential and that is all really. So onto the next trade!

Hornets Receive: Montrezl Harrell

Wizards Receive: Vernon Carey Jr., Ish Smith

The Hornets need a guy like Montrezl to handle the center position as they are lacking there at the moment. Now don't get me wrong, Mason Plumlee is a decent center, but he is not going to help this team win, so now they have somebody that can do the job. Now the Wizards needed this last trade to make way for a star player that would benefit them greatly, let us take a look at that trade.

Wizards Receive: Kristaps Porzingis, second rounder

Mavs Receive: Spencer Dinwiddie, Davis Bertans

This trade was really unexpected, there wasn't even a single rumor about any of these players being traded until they were officially sent to their new teams. Kristaps is going to benefit the struggling Wizards greatly as it fills in a spot where they need a quality player. For the Mavs this is just a trade where they replace Porzingis and get a better backup for Luka. This trade will help both teams in their hunts for a playoff spot.

Rockets Receive: Dennis Schroder, Enes Freedom, Bruno Fernando (Freedom waivered)

Celtics Receive: Daniel Theis

This trade works for the Celtics a lot, and for the Rockets I guess it is just getting Schroder because they are also expected to wave Fernando. Schroder is going to help the Rockets a lot since John Wall has not played the entire season and it does not look like he is coming back this year at any point unless it is an emergency. Schroder will be a key piece to their last ditch effort to slide into a playoff spot, as they (Rockets) currently sit at the bottom of the western conference. The Rockets have a great potential and I think they can slide into the playoffs at that 10 seed for a play in game. With that, those are all the trades! See you next time!
